Terms & Conditions – Alex Rhind Custom Builds

Welcome to Alex Rhind. By using our website, placing an order, or requesting a quotation, you agree to the Terms & Conditions outlined below. Please read them carefully. If you have any questions, contact us at info@alexrhind.co.za.

1. Custom Orders

1.1 All items are made to order according to the client’s specifications.
1.2 After a design or quotation is approved, production begins, and changes are not easily accommodated.
1.3 Any changes requested after approval may result in additional costs or extended lead times.
1.4 Custom orders are non-refundable unless defective under the conditions outlined in Section 7.

2. Quotes & Pricing

2.1 All quotations are valid for 14 days from the date issued.
2.2 Prices may vary based on material availability, custom specifications, and installation requirements.
2.3 A deposit (usually 50%) is required before work begins. Production will not commence without payment.

3. Payments

3.1 Payments can be made via EFT or any of the methods listed on our invoice.
3.2 Final payment is due before delivery or installation.
3.3 Orders will only be released once full payment has been received and reflected in our account.

4. Lead Times

4.1 Lead times vary depending on material availability and project complexity.
4.2 Estimated timelines will be provided, but are not guaranteed.
4.3 We will notify you if delays arise due to suppliers, weather, or unforeseen circumstances.

5. Delivery & Nationwide Installations

5.1 We deliver and install anywhere in South Africa.
5.2 Delivery and installation fees vary by location and project size.
5.3 Clients must ensure that access to the installation site is safe and suitable.
5.4 If a delivery attempt fails due to inaccessible property or the client’s absence, additional fees may apply.

6. Wood & Epoxy Disclaimer

6.1 Wood is a natural material; colour, grain, and slight imperfections may occur. These variations are not defects.
6.2 Wood expands, contracts, and changes with climate — this is normal.
6.3 Epoxy resin may have natural curing variations. Small air bubbles or colour shifts are not considered defects.
6.4 All products should be used and stored in appropriate indoor or outdoor conditions, as outlined in our care guidelines.

7. Returns, Repairs & Warranty

7.1 Due to the customised nature of our products, returns are not accepted unless the item is defective.
7.2 A 3-month quality warranty applies to structural issues caused by poor construction.
7.3 Damage caused by misuse, water exposure, incorrect cleaning, weather conditions, or neglect is not covered.
7.4 Repairs outside of warranty can be arranged at an additional fee.

8. Customer Responsibilities

8.1 Please provide accurate measurements and design requirements.
8.2 Ensure correct installation access and site preparation.
8.3 Follow all care instructions provided for wood and epoxy maintenance.

9. Intellectual Property

9.1 All designs, photos, and content on this website are the property of Alex Rhind.
9.2 Clients may not reproduce, copy, or sell our designs without written permission.

10. Privacy Policy

10.1 Your personal information is used solely for communication, quoting, delivery, and order fulfilment.
10.2 We do not sell or share your information with third parties unless required for delivery purposes.
